2025 World Water Challenge
World Water Challenge is an international contest hosted by the Ministry of Environment of Korea and organized by Korea Water Forum for water solutions.
It was created as a special program of the Science and Technology Process in the 7th World Water Forum to identify imminent global water issues and to find feasible solutions based on the core value of “Implementation.”
World Water Challenge holds as one of the signature programs of Korea International Water Week.
It is expected to serve its role as an important platform to share not only innovative scientific/technological methods but also policies towards solving defined water challenges around the world and to build a broad network among experts and stakeholders in the water sector as well as solution providers.
The World Water Challenge 2025 is an important event where people from all over the world can share new ideas and technologies, as well as new government plans, to fix water problems.
It’s also a great opportunity for water experts, organizations, and people who have solutions to connect and work together.
The World Water Challenge 2025 is looking for new ideas (developed in the last 10 years) that solve water problems and help achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Priority will be given to one of the following areas;
- Smart Technology: This is about using the newest, most advanced tech to make water systems stronger and work better. It’s the future of water solutions.
- Appropriate Technology: These are practical, affordable solutions that work well for communities that don’t have a lot of money or advanced systems.
- Environment Preservation Technology: This focuses on methods, rules, and technologies that help protect nature, keep rivers and lakes clean, and support healthy life in water.

Eligibility Criterias
- Anyone from any country can apply.
- Open to anyone interested in solving water-related problems.
- Your ideas must have been created within the last 10 years.
