World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Young Experts Program Application is open.

This Program supports the development of early-career professionals who are passionate about Intellectual Property (IP) and its role in driving innovation and sustainable development worldwide.

Through this 2-year competitive program, a select group of young and talented professionals will work first-hand on WIPO’s various initiatives.

The Program offers exposure to both technical and strategic aspects of IP, allowing YEP participants to gain skills and knowledge that can contribute to the future economic growth of their countries and regions.

This is a unique learning opportunity for your career – not only about IP, but also about collaboration, multilateralism and global impact.

Summary of the Cohort 2026 of WIPO Young Experts Program

  • Funding Type: Fully Funded
  • Perks: Monthly stipend of 5000 CHF, 75% of medical insurance costs, Accident insurance, Contribution towards travel expenses, among others

Eligibility Criterias for the Cohort 2026 of WIPO Young Experts Program 

  • Maximum of  35 years old at the time the application is submitted
  • Available for 24 months in 2026 – 2027
  • A First Level University degree
  • At least 2 years relevant experience
  • Excellent analytical, research & organisational skills
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written & spoken English
  • Knowledge in innovation and/or creativity.

Participating Perks of the Cohort 2026 of WIPO Young Experts Program

  • A monthly stipend of 5000 Swiss Francs (CHF)
  • Contribution to cover 75% of medical insurance costs
  • Accident insurance
  • Contribution towards travel expenses
  • WIPO may assist in obtaining an entry visa into Switzerland
  • WIPO’s staff counsellor may provide guidance regarding accommodation.

Timelines

  • Applications closes in August
  • Initial screening tests: September first week
  • Virtual Interviews: September to October
  • Selection: October to November
  • Onboarding: between December and January
  • Program start: February 1, 2026
