GovAI Winter Fellowship 2026 in London
Summer and Winter Fellowships provide an opportunity for early-career individuals or established professionals new to the field of AI governance to spend three months working on an AI governance research project, deepening their knowledge of the field, and forging connections with other researchers and practitioners.
We are looking for candidates who are strongly considering using their careers to study or shape the lasting implications of AI.
Objectives
- The Program aims to invite fellows to join a GovAI Team to conduct independent research on a topic of their own choice and get mentorship from leading experts.
- Fellows receive mentorship from experts, develop a research proposal in the first two weeks, and produce an output like a report or article.
- The GovAI Fellowship alumni have secured positions at leading AI companies (DeepMind, OpenAI, Anthropic).
- Beyond research, fellows can network with AI governance experts through Q&A sessions, workshops, and social events. They also get skill-building opportunities and can discuss future career paths.

Eligibility Requirements for the GovAI Winter Fellowship 2026
- The Fellowship is open to all the Nationals.
- The Fellowship is open to applicants from diverse professional backgrounds, including:

- Universities (academia)

- Non-profit organizations (civil society)
- Your specific degree isn’t the most important factor.
- Open to students, Graduates, and people with Research experience.
- Professional experience in related areas like political science, computer science, economics, history, or law.
