Job Description

As we grow, we need an Operations Manager who can turn big ideas into flawless execution. This role is central to ensuring that our shows, record label projects, and community experiences are delivered with precision, impact, and consistent excellence.

Key Responsibilities: 

This is a full-time hybrid role for an Operations Manager at ActivityFest. The role is primarily based in Lagos, with flexibility for remote work when not on-site for event builds or activations. The Operations Manager will be responsible for driving seamless execution across all programs, from ASC3NSION shows to Activity Music Festival and beyond ensuring operational excellence, vendor management, and stakeholder satisfaction. The ideal candidate will oversee logistics, cross-functional coordination, and event timelines, with a strong focus on maintaining quality, meeting budget goals, and delivering unforgettable experiences. 

  • End-to-end event delivery for monthly ASC3NSION shows, the flagship Activity Music Festival, pop-ups, and record-label showcases.
  • Cross-functional project management, drive Production, Marketing, Sponsorship, Finance, Membership, and Compliance teams to hit milestones on time and on budget.
  • Vendor ecosystem, collaborate with the Production team to source, negotiate, and manage suppliers, contractors, and seasonal crew; enforce SLAs and build long-term partnerships.
  • Operational playbooks & SOPs, codify best practices for site builds, safety, crowd flow, ticketing/RFID, membership tech, and contingency planning.
  • ActivityRecords operations, coordinate artist management, release timelines, live sessions, and merch drops in sync with event calendars.
  • Continuous improvement, collect data, debrief every show, and turn insights into the next round of upgrades.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in operations, event management, or logistics (preferably in entertainment, festivals, or large-scale events)
  • Experience working in fast-paced, creative environments
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Data-driven decision maker with strong communication skills
  • Familiar with major festival/event benchmarks (Tomorrowland, AfroNation, etc.)
  • Stakeholder-savvy—able to manage artists, sponsors, regulators, and volunteers alike
  • Certifications like PMP, IOSH/NEBOSH are a plus

  • 100% on-time delivery of critical event milestones
  • NPS ≥ +70 across all touchpoints
  • < 5% variance from budget per event
  • ≥ 98% vendor SLA compliance
  • Zero major safety incidents
  • “Excellent” feedback from artists, vendors, and attendees
  • Quarterly improvement plans submitted and implemented.

How We Work

  • Full-time hybrid: office days in Lagos + onsite presence during builds, events, and show weekends
  • Must be available to work evenings/weekends during event weeks
  • Occasional travel (~10% annually) for vendor visits and off-site events.
