Link to Apply: CREDICORP YouthCred NYSC Loan Scheme

The Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP), in collaboration with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has officially launched a groundbreaking national initiative aimed at empowering young Nigerians through responsible access to credit.

This initiative marks a major milestone in the nation’s efforts to expand financial inclusion and promote credit culture among youth.

The partnership was formally solidified through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between CREDICORP and NYSC, laying the foundation for what is set to become a transformational program for young Nigerians.

“This partnership with the NYSC is a direct response to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Democracy Day pledge to expand access to consumer credit beginning this July. We are starting with corps members because they represent the future,” said a statement from CREDICORP.

Introducing ‘Corper Credit’ — The Flagship of the YouthCred Platform

The initiative, officially branded as “Corper Credit”, serves as the flagship offering of the YouthCred platform, which is dedicated to fostering financial resilience and responsible credit behavior among Nigerian youth.

Corper Credit is designed exclusively for serving NYSC corps members and provides upfront loans of ₦100,000 to ₦150,000. The repayment is structured to be spread evenly over the service year, making it easier for corps members to repay through small, manageable monthly installments.

“This is not just a loan — it’s a movement,” said CREDICORP, emphasizing that the initiative combines financial access with practical financial education to build a new generation of creditworthy citizens.

Key Features of the Corper Credit Program

  • Loan Amount: ₦100,000 – ₦150,000
  • Flexible Repayment: Across the 12-month NYSC service period
  • Mandatory Financial Literacy Training
  • No Collateral or Guarantors Required
  • Build Credit History with Responsible Repayment
  • Digital onboarding through the YouthCred platform

In addition to financial access, corps members will undergo a digital credit literacy training, which will equip them with the fundamentals of budgeting, credit management, understanding credit scores, and financial responsibility. Completion of this course is required to unlock loan access.

Eligibility Criteria for Corper Credit

To qualify for the Corper Credit loan, applicants must:

  • Be an active NYSC corps member.
  • Possess a valid NYSC identification (NYSC ID Card, Deployment Letter, or Call-up Letter).
  • Provide their NYSC Call-up Number.
  • Complete the digital financial literacy program on the YouthCred platform.
  • Agree to repay the loan in small monthly deductions over the NYSC year.

Training for Implementation Across Nigeria

To ensure smooth implementation and maximum awareness, NYSC officials across all 36 states and the FCT have been trained to guide corps members on how to use the YouthCred platform.

These officials will also provide continued support on credit education, application processes, and responsible financial behavior.

A New Chapter in Youth Empowerment

The Corper Credit program symbolizes more than financial assistance—it marks a new chapter in how young Nigerians engage with the financial system.

By promoting credit inclusion, financial literacy, and responsible borrowing, CREDICORP and NYSC are equipping the next generation to thrive economically and become financially empowered citizens.
