The Role of the Remote Junior – Mid Level Product Manager at Popkup
- We are hiring a Junior-MidLevel Product Manager who will wear many hats and grow with the product.
- Beyond supporting product development, you will play a key role in helping PopKup gain visibility in the Nigerian tech ecosystem.
- From collaborating with cross-functional teams to representing the brand at key startup events, this role offers broad exposure and the chance to help shape the future of the product.
Responsibilities of the Remote Junior – Mid Level Product Manager at Popkup
- Assist in defining and maintaining product requirements, specs, and roadmaps.
- Support sprint planning, product documentation, and feature tracking.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and marketing on the end-to-end product lifecycle.
- Gather and analyze user feedback to inform product decisions.
- Help manage internal tools such as Notion, Trello, or Jira to keep the team aligned.
- Contribute to go-to-market planning, rollout strategies, and product launch readiness.
- Work with founders to increase product visibility through Nigerian startup communities.
- Represent PopKup at relevant tech events, demo days, and meetups as needed.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and ecosystem changes that may impact our direction.
- Create light research reports on user behaviour, creator economy trends, and business adoption.
What We’re Looking For
- 1–2 years of experience in a product, project, growth, or tech-adjacent role (internships, freelance, or formal work experience welcome)
- Excellent communication and coordination skills; able to work well across diverse teams
- A self-starter who thrives in an unstructured environment and is excited to build something from the ground up
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with startup tools like Notion, Slack, Google Workspace, Figma, Trello/Jira, etc.
- Passion for innovation, creators, tech products, and startup culture in Africa
- Comfortable speaking on behalf of the brand or demoing a product (training will be provided)
Bonus (Nice to Have)
- Prior experience working in a startup or creator-focused business
- Knowledge of affiliate platforms, influencer marketing, or B2B marketplaces
- Exposure to branding, community management, or early-stage GTM strategy
- Ability to travel occasionally for tech events or pitch competitions (reimbursed)
